It doesn’t get easier than this! Tomatoes, especially cooked tomatoes, are a rich source of
lycopene, which has been proven to greatly reduce prostate cancer risk and even increase survival.
Serve this sauce over pasta or polenta.
1 can (28 ounces) tomato sauce, or 31⁄2 cups crushed tomatoes
6 fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
1. Combine all of the ingredients in a medium saucepan. Cook and stir
over low heat for about 10 minutes, until bubbly.
2. Stored in a covered container, leftover Simple Marinara will keep for
up to 3 days in the refrigerator or up to 1 month in the freezer.
