Tropical Freeze Recipes for Smoothies - How Foods Fight Cancer
MAKES 3 SERVINGS
Puréed frozen fruit makes a wonderful dessert, without the fat or refined sugar in ice cream.
Look for frozen mango pieces at your supermarket, or freeze your own using fresh mangoes.
1 orange (preferably navel), peeled
1 cup frozen banana chunks (see page 100)
1 cup frozen mango chunks
1⁄2 to 1 cup fortified soymilk or rice milk
1. Cut the orange in half and remove any seeds. Place in a blender along
with the banana, mango, and soymilk. Process for 2 to 3 minutes,
until thick and completely smooth.
2. Tropical Freeze is best served immediately. Leftovers may be stored
in the refrigerator for up to 1 day or frozen for up to 1 week. Blend
the mixture again before serving.
